Monumental

Can we talk about how I beat Mr. Know-it-All (who, might I add, always has an opinion and NEVER stands down from it) in a debate in class yesterday?
Anyone who knows me well can see why this is a monumental event.
I'm not the one who speaks up in class and I'm certainly not the one who gives a strong, "unbeatable" person a run for his money on sociological debates.
However, I did it
That's right. And you know what...
it was thrilling beyond belief.  The adrenaline rush was spectacular.
I believe I earned a gold star for the day.
It was pretty rad.

I Don't Wanna Grow Up

I'm turning 20 this month.
Yeah, not THAT big of a deal for most people!
 BUT... it is for me.
I was REALLY excited when i graduated from high school to go away to college .... late night apartment parties,  friends at football games, and partying it up with hotties across the street. Pretty much just an extended version of high-school but away from home.  I grew up hearing“Enjoy college! Best years of my life, it goes by way too fast.”
Mine was short-lived.
I was kind of forced into adulthood instead when i decided to do this nursing program and move back home.  Yeah, I feel blessed to get my RN when I will be still 20 and it will set me up for whatever may come in life. And i must say some pretty amazing things have happened while  I have been home.
But when I was asked what I wanted for my birthday this year,
I wanted to say, " Umm... no thanks, my birthday’s kind of just not coming around this year.”
Can't I just extend adolescence into my 20's?
being that i was kinda jipped?!

Jipped of living with girls that would forever be my adopted sisters and future bridesmaids.  Jipped of midnight Del Taco runs and cookie dough pig-outs.  Jipped of meeting new people every weekend and handing out the rejection hotline number to the not-quite-so-appealing-guys just to say I did.
I’m trying to accept the fact that I’m getting older. I’m sure some amazing things will come with age so I’m doing my best to look to the future, not the past.  More importantly, I’m trying to realize that getting older doesn’t mean I have to stop enjoying life.
Right now, the possibilities for my life seem endless. I’m just beginning to realize what I’m capable of, and what the world may have in store for me. It’s a great feeling and I want to hold on to it for as LOOOONNNNGGG as possible!
ok...now that i have that off my chest,   It's TIME TO PARTY!!!

"Your decisions are like switch points on a railroad system. They determine where you will end up in life. When you consistently make the right choices, you are the happiest, receive the greatest personal growth, and have the most productive life. When you make the wrong choices, you may find yourself at an entirely different destination than you want." Richard G. Scott

My head is OVER heels

Can i just say....
wearing 4 inch heels with a swimsuit is stupid.  who does that?!

Heels are only sexy if you can actually walk in them.
Which i can't.
My toes hurt.
My calves hurt.
wobble.
I am awkward.
I only look sexy when I stand perfectly still haha!
But I don't feel sexy
Because I feel ridiculous!

But I will pretend to love them this once....

THEN,
All I want for christmas dear Santa is...
to wear jeans (like maybe some vintage skinny),
a plaid flannel shirt (comfy one with pockets),
and no makeup (OR if you must, Santa, some cosmetics from Sephora~you know what I like),
AND,
then I promise I will compromise,
and just go with wild hair,
but just as long as I smell nice (Hearts and Daggers-the new Ed Hardy perfume), of course!
But i'm fine without any of the above,
After all,
YOU DID ALREADY BUY ME A SWIMSUIT
               & HIGH HEELS....stupid! stupid!
Love, Jordan
P.S.  Please get the old man that threw a snowball at my mom's car today something nice.  He definitely gave me a good laugh!

The BEST Heating Blanket

It was 4 degrees outside last night.
Yep, you heard me!
Here I am with my sister
in my "white robber" outfit that failed to keep me warm.
I came straight from school in my surgical scrubs to Kenzie's
volleyball banquet.
I was FREEEEEEZzing!
But it was OK
because I had my Dad.
He gave me his warm jacket and got my car in the parking lot and brought it to the front door.
He is always warm.  He has giant, warm hands (I inherited the giant hands but not the warm part.)

I love him.

Ok... he IS a
a party pooper and the first one to bed when we all want to
stay up and talk or party.
a big baby whenever us girls get a haircut because "it stinkin'
costs so much!!"
a lecturer if I use the word "makeout".
an embarassment at volleyball matches....and basketball games and
football games because he yells at the players just
like he yells at crazy drivers.
a horrible joke teller when he completely obliterates the punchline.
an unhappy camper whenever "Fred" arrives for one of us girls.
an overprotective father who glares at boys who are looking my way.
BUT
He is BRILLIANT and helps me all the time study for ridiculous classes like Pharmacology.
He is a COMPLETE STUD who can still play ball (any kind of ball) with the boys.
He leaves me post-it notes on my mirror.
I received this one when I got home from school last week:
"In the words of William Hung,
it takes lots of hard work and perseverance to get through nursing school."
Haha! (For those of you who watch American Idol, you will understand)
He is amazingly strong and faithful to what he knows is true and right.
He is SO handsome and I'm proud to take him anywhere.
He LOVES my mom and shows her everyday.
He is the ENTERTAINER EXTRAORDINAIRE
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
Exhibit C (breast cancer awareness and he felt left out)

Yep, He is officially the craziest father:

And I couldn't ask for a better one!
He is always there...
I love him to death :)

Thank You Thanksgiving Weekend

Here’s what I did…

  • Snuggled on the love sac and watched Pinocchio with the world’s cutest 3 year old boy

  • Got a makeup makeover and felt like a new women haha!

  • Cheered up by good friends over simple texting conversations
  • Learned card tricks from “the experts”

  • Snuck in to get a quick glimpse of the Air Force Academy basketball team practicing before getting kicked out

  • Went bowling twice (I completely dominated the second time)
  • Caught up with some good old friends :)
  • Laughed so hard I cried
  • Had mature conversations with a 12 year old
  • Received good morning hugs from my grandparents everyday…that meant the world to me

  • Made a pie run after discovering that the bananas in the Banana Cream pies we made turned black
  • Felt like a teenager watching New Moon, and about fell over every time Jacob was on the screen haha!  I was as giddy as my 12-year-old cousin, McCall (possibly more)
  • Witnessed the cutest moment...my cousin Luke got so frustrated while bowling and maintained the head-down position on the bowling ball return thing for 5 straight minutes.

  • Stayed up till 1 o’clock every night
  • Ate the most amazing ribs!
  • Spent time with the best brother EVER!

  • Gave my mom a backrub until she fell asleep after a long busy day

No stress, no worries, no sadness…at least for a few moments

Just what I needed.

Now...
back to reality

Can't I Just Stay Here?

"When God closes one door,

He always opens another,
even though sometimes its hell in the hallway."
Another great quote from my Dad this week.

 I've decided that I don't like hallways!
What I'd give to be little again --at least for today...

Same pajamas, same blanket,
Only decisions were macaroni & cheese OR hot dogs...

Those were the days...
